Професорот Петревски е роден во Охрид, во 1970 година. Дипломирал на Економскиот факултет при Универзитетот Св. Кирил и Методиј во Скопје во 1993 година. Во 1998 година, магистрирал на истиот факултет, на студиумот по монетарна економија, а докторирал во 2004 година на тема од монетарната политика.
Академската кариера ја започнал во 1995 година, кога се вработил како соработник на Факултетот за туризам и угостителство во Охрид при Универзитетот Св. Климент Охридски во Битола. Од 2003 година работи на Економскиот факултет во Скопје, најпрвин како соработник по група предмети од областа на финансиите, а потоа како наставник на додипломските и постдипломските студии. Од септември 2009 година до февруари 2011 година бил продекан за настава на Економскиот факултет - Скопје. Од 2006 година до 2013 година бил член на Советот на Народната банка на Македонија.
Неговиот научен интерес претежно е насочен кон следниве области: макроекономија, монетарна политика, банкарство, економика на девизните курсеви и фискалната политика. Професорот Петревски објавил трудови во меѓународните списанија: Empirical Economics, Economic Systems, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Eastern European Economics, Problems of Post-Communism, Empirica. Journal of European Economics, International Journal of Monetary Economics and Finance и South East Europe Review for Labour and Social Affairs. Исто така, тој објавил и две книги: Монетарна политика - теорија и искуството на Македoнија (2005) и Управување со банките (2008 и 2011). Од 2014 година, тој е редовен колумнист во списанието Економија и бизнис. Професорот Петревски е оженет и има три ќерки. Покрај работата во областа на економијата, тој пишува и белетристика и има издадено еден роман и две збирки раскази. Во слободното време, ужива во прошетките во природа и во својата музичка колекција.

Професорот Петревски е роден во Охрид, во 1970 година. Дипломирал на Економскиот факултет при Универзитетот Св. Кирил и Методиј во Скопје во 1993 година. Во 1998 година, магистрирал на истиот факултет, на студиумот по монетарна економија, а докторирал во 2004 година на тема од монетарната политика.
